Cockroach Janata Party Protest Denied in Mumbai's Shivaji Park

There was a protest by Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) workers in Mumbai. Locals protested at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. Locals did not allow CJP workers to speak. CJP has announced a protest at Shivaji Park on 2 October demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. CJP has called for a'jail bharo'agitation on 2 October. But locals of Shivaji Park opposed the movement. There was a heated argument between local residents and CJP's coordinators. Video of the argument between the two sides is viral on social media. Police have not given CJP permission to protest at Shivaji Park. Police did so citing High Court directives, non-permission of civic body and apprehension of traffic obstruction. An application was submitted by social activist Ajinkya Shinde on 26 September for permission to protest by Abhijeet Deepak-led organisation. A letter was issued by Shivaji Park police station stating that under formal orders and guidelines of the state high court, this public meeting has also not been allowed at the ground.
