Congress Appoints Avinash Pande as Uttar Pradesh In-Charge Amid Speculation

The Congress appointed former Rajya Sabha member and Nagpur resident Avinash Pande as in-charge of Uttar Pradesh on 23 December 2023. State president Ajay Rai remained in the fray. The state organisation expanded and sustained campaigns were carried out to connect Dalit votebanks. The SP-Congress alliance was formed in the Lok Sabha elections. The party got six MPs. Avinash Pande had stopped coming to Uttar Pradesh for the past two months. Since then, there were speculations of change.
