The nomination of Congress Rajya Sabha candidate from Madhya Pradesh Meenakshi Natarajan has been rejected. The Returning Officer of the Rajya Sabha in Bhopal has released the final list of Rajya Sabha candidates from Madhya Pradesh after scrutiny. BJP candidates Tarun Chugh, Mahesh Kewat and Rajneesh Agrawal are among them. Congress candidate Meenakshi Natarajan's nomination form was rejected by the Returning Officer on June 9. A 10-member Congress delegation met the Election Commission in Delhi on Wednesday. Congress MP Abhishek Manu Singhvi said, the delegation included KC Venugopal, Jairam Ramesh, Randeep Surjewala, Sachin Pilot, Bhupesh Baghel, Vivek Tankha. Congress leaders were assured of the decision in 2 hours, but it was late in the afternoon. The Commission did not take any decision. Sources say, the Election Commission has rejected the Congress complaint. However, Congress leaders have not confirmed it. Meanwhile, Congress workers in Bhopal met the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) on Wednesday.
