Congress Chief Accuses Centre, BJP of Polarization Politics Over Vande Mataram

Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge, while speaking to the media in Kalaburagi, Karnataka on Saturday (August 22, 2026), accused the Narendra Modi government at the Centre and the BJP of playing politics of polarisation. He said that the Congress party is singing the same version of Vande Mataram which was decided by other national leaders of the country along with Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He questioned whether the national leaders who decided the shorter version of Vande Mataram were also traitors.
