Congress Infighting Reaches Peak in Surat's Kamrej Over Ticket Distribution

Surat (Kamrej): Even before entering the fray for the local body elections, Congress infighting has reached its peak in Surat district's Kamrej. The workers are angry over the alleged discrepancies in ticket distribution and allocation of official mandates. The dispute has escalated to such an extent that the loyal workers of Congress have now come out against their own leadership, which is threatening to wipe out the Congress before the elections. On the last day of filing nominations for 4 Zila Panchayat and 20 Taluka Panchayat seats in Kamrej taluka, there was high drama. Many candidates were waiting for their mandates, but the anger of 24 candidates and their supporters erupted until the last minute. Agitated workers protested against District Congress President Anand Chaudhary and shouted'Hi'slogans and accused the leadership of ignoring the party's loyalists.
