In Maharashtra, senior Congress leader and Latur MP Dr Shivaji Kalge has created a stir by saying that he has suffered financial loss after becoming a Lok Sabha member. He attributed the reduction in his income to less time spent on his medical practice. The MP said, "If someone asks about my financial condition, I will only say that I have suffered losses after becoming an MP." MP MP Dr Shivaji Kalge said that he is not able to give enough time to his profession of doctor and this has affected the functioning of his hospital. He said that in the financial year 2023-24, I paid about 36 lakh rupees as income tax. In 2024-25, my tax was about 8. 75 lakh rupees as my income decreased considerably. I am not able to give enough time to my patients nor am I able to run my hospital full time. Congress leader Kalge also expressed his displeasure over the allocation of funds for development works in the neighbouring Nanded district. He also alleged, "My experience with the Guardian Minister in Nanded (last year) has not been approved at all."
