Congress Open to Reuniting with Old Members Amid Merger Speculation

Amid growing buzz among people over the merger of Congress splinter groups into the party, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has expressed its willingness to take back its old members. Congress general secretary (organisation) and Rahul Gandhi's confidant KC Venugopal said, "Anyone who believes in Congress ideology can come back. There is no problem." He added that such mergers and ghar wapsi will further strengthen the fight against BJP-fascist forces. He added, "All parties who want to join Congress and believe in Congress ideology can contact us. We will welcome them." However, Venugopal clarified that no merger proposal is under consideration with AICC at the moment. "We are hearing all these speculations from the media."
