Congress has started its preparations ahead of the assembly elections in Punjab. Congress has made several appointments in Punjab. Congress has made former CM Charanjit Singh Channi the head of the campaign committee. Vijay Inder Singla has been made the chairman of the election management and coordination committee. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has been made the chairman of the core committee and Dr. Amar Singh has been made the chairman of the Punjab Manifesto Committee by Congress.
