Congress President Takes Jibe at Shashi Tharoor Over Social Media Activism

Top Congress leaders attended the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting on Tuesday (September 29, 2026). Several issues were discussed at length at the crucial party meeting. During this, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge took a jibe at Shashi Tharoor, MP from Kerala's capital Thiruvananthapuram. According to sources, during the meeting, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor suggested that the party should do something big on October 2, Gandhi Jayanti. To this suggestion of Tharoor, Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge took a jibe, saying, "Apart from just writing articles in social media and big newspapers, you should also take to the streets. You will also come to the protest or just stay on social media." All other leaders present at the meeting laughed at Kharge's jibe. According to sources, the CWC meeting with Congress lasted for about two and a half hours. During this, Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge, leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, and other top party leaders discussed the party's agenda, including the agenda for the upcoming meeting.
