Congress Protests Against Chief Election Commissioner, Denies Voter Deletion Impact

The Congress has been protesting against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar in several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Delhi. Congress leader P Chidambaram has denied the impact of the SIR in the Tamil Nadu Assembly. He said that the SIR was not responsible for TVK's victory or DMK's defeat in the Tamil Nadu elections. Chidambaram said, "It is wrong to delete the names of voters, but I don't think it has affected the election result." Former Finance Minister Chidambaram said, "The Election Commission deleted the names of voters. It is wrong, those names should have been included, but I don't think TVK won and DMK lost just because of this. The opposition party will have to prove its claims about the scale of vote manipulation." He said this about the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. However, Chidambaram also said that he protested against vote theft by the Election Commission of India (ECI) and CEC Gyanesh Kumar in Sivagangadi district. P Chidambaram also demanded the resignation of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
