Congress Protests Power Cuts in Punjab as Crisis Deepens

The Congress has upped the ante against the Bhagwant Mann government over the frequent power cuts in Punjab. The Punjab Congress will protest against the power crisis in Patiala on Monday (September 14). The demonstration will be held outside the headquarters of the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) in Patiala. The protest will be led by Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring. The Congress alleges that people in many areas of Punjab are facing long power cuts. According to the party, the common people are facing a lot of problems due to no power for 10 to 12 hours in some places. The long power cuts between the heat and humidity have increased the difficulties of the houses as well as the farmers and businessmen. The Congress says that the power shortage is directly affecting the everyday life of the common people. People are upset due to the fans and coolers in the houses, while the farmers have to wait for electricity for irrigation and small businesses have been affected. The party has also claimed that the Punjab government is constantly talking about the power crisis.
