Congress Questions Administration's Functioning After Sarpanch's Arrest Over Toilet Construction Scandal

The case of alleged financial irregularities related to the construction of a community toilet in village Chitabahar under Ambikapur Janpad Panchayat in Surguja district has now taken a political turn. The District Congress Committee has raised serious questions on the functioning of the administration after the arrest of Ramsay Minz, Sarpanch and Sarpanch Union President of Saraitikara. The Advertisement Congress issued a press release claiming that the Sarpanch of Chitabahar Gram Panchayat at the time of the investigation of the works of the financial year 2020-21 was not Ramsay Minz, but Shivnath Bhagat. The party says that despite this fact, action was taken against Ramsay Minz. According to the Advertisement Congress, Ramsay Minz's name was also not included in the complaint sent by the Village Secretary to the Janpad Panchayat. Moreover, Ramsay Minz had already informed the Janpad Panchayat in writing that he was not the Sarpanch of Chitabahar Panchayat in the relevant period. Despite this, he was arrested, which the Congress said on Friday morning.
