The Congress has taken action against former MLA Rajendra Bharti just before the result of Datia Assembly by-election in Madhya Pradesh. Congress national general secretary and state in-charge Harish Chaudhary has suspended him from the primary membership of the party. Congress candidate Kunwar Ghanshyam Singh had given a written complaint to senior leaders including party national president Mallikarjun Kharge after voting on 30 July. Ghanshyam Singh had alleged that Bharti worked against the party in the election. State in-charge Harish Chaudhary also took action for suspension after the complaint. A letter said that with the approval of All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge, former MLA from Datia Rajendra Bharti is suspended from the primary membership of the Indian National Congress with immediate effect. Let us tell you that the counting of votes for the by-election to Datia Assembly seat will start from Monday morning. Both Congress and BJP are confident of their victory in this election. After losing this seat in 2023, BJP sidelined former Home Minister Narottam Mishra.
