Congress Wins One Rajya Sabha Seat in Haryana Amid High-Voltage Election Drama

In Haryana, after 16 hours of high-voltage election drama till 1: 30 pm, the Congress party won one out of two Rajya Sabha seats. It is also being credited to the political campaign of Bhupinder Singh Hooda. It was due to his'Operation Himachal'that the Congress won one seat by a very narrow margin. With this victory, the Congress has effectively captured one seat held by the Bharatiya Janata Party. Five Congress MLAs had cross-voted, out of which the votes of four were declared invalid by the Returning Officer Pankaj Adhikari. The entire plan of the BJP was ready. The BJP had also made independent candidate Satish Nandal in its favor. Hooda knew that the margin of error was zero. In 2016, a similar dispute took place and the votes of 12 Congress MLAs were declared invalid. In 2022, Kuldeep Bishnoi voted for the BJP and one vote became invalid and Congress leader Ajay Maken had to face defeat again. Ahmed did not want to keep the 15 Congress MLAs together.
