Congress's Position in Maharashtra Alliance Raises Questions of Compromise

The latest developments have once again raised the question of whether the Congress high command has completely bowed down to the Shiv Sena (UBT) and the NCP (Sharad Pawar). Ever since the Mahavikas Aghadi came into being in 2019, the Congress position has been defensive in the alliance. Despite having the highest strike rate in the state in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Congress had to bow down to its allies in important seats like Sangli and Mumbai during the assembly elections.
