CPI(M) Protests in Cooch Behar Demand Electoral Roll Reforms

The CPI (M) on Thursday took out a march in Pundibari area of Cooch Behar II Block and deputed the Block Development Officer of Cooch Behar II Block with a series of demands, including immediate publication of the final electoral roll, speedy decision on the pending voters, expeditious correction of the names of genuine Indian citizens who were mistakenly included in the pending list, no exclusion of any legitimate voter, no announcement of elections with a large number of voters pending or doubtful in the electoral roll by invoking under-adjudication. The CPI (M) also took out a march in Dinhata town and deputed the Dinhata Sub-Divisional Officer. CPI (M) Cooch Behar district secretary Ananta Roy, senior leader Safiz Ahmed, party leaders Dhaneswar Roy, Roy, Manoj Sarkar and others participated in the protest programme at the BDO office premises.
