CRPF Jawan's Son Dies in Lucknow Hospital After Falling Ill While on Duty

Late Govardhan Singh, 36, son of CRPF jawan Rajeev Kumar, a resident of village Mahbala in Thana Gorai area, died on September 20 while undergoing treatment at Belsans Medicity Hospital in Lucknow. The news of the jawan's death sent shockwaves in the family. Rajeev Kumar had joined the CRPF in 2010. After completing his leave on September 16, he joined duty at his posting in Ayodhya. The next day, he suddenly fell ill and was rushed to Belsans Medicity Hospital in Lucknow. Despite treatment by doctors, he breathed his last on September 20. Rajiv's father Late Govardhan Singh had passed away about ten years ago. The jawan has left behind his mother Saroj Devi, wife, a daughter, a son and a younger brother. Mother Saroj Devi is inconsolable after the death of the jawan. CRPF jawans also saluted Rajiv Kumar with state honours. SDM Igni Kumar paid his last respects to his son while a large number of villagers, including some MLAs, attended the last rites.
