Delhi Assembly Rejects Arvind Kejriwal's Demand for Live Streaming of Privileges Committee Proceedings

The Delhi Assembly has written to former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, rejecting his demand for live streaming of the proceedings of the Privileges Committee. The Committee has summoned the AAP chief on Friday in the matter related to the'hanging house '. In the letter, the Chairman of the Privileges Committee has expressed surprise at Kejriwal's demand for live streaming. Kejriwal has been a member of the Assembly for more than 10 years and has attended several meetings of the Privileges Committee. The Delhi Assembly Secretariat's letter reads that as per the Speaker's direction, the proceedings of the Privileges Committee are confidential. As per rules, its live telecast is not allowed. The letter further states that there is no precedent of the Privileges Committee meeting being telecast in Parliament or other states. The letter was made public on Friday. The Speaker further states that he has expressed surprise at your ignorance in the matter, while you have been a former member of this House for more than 10 years. During that time, several meetings of the Privileges Committee were held, but a meeting / live telecast of the proceedings of the Privileges Committee was never done.
