Delhi High Court Dismisses Petition Calling it 'Wild Witch Hunt'

On Monday (September 21), the Delhi High Court dismissed the petition filed by advocate Ghanshyam Dayalu Upadhyay. Justice Amit Bansal refused to entertain it during the hearing of the petition. The court remarked, "I am not entertaining it. It is a wild witch hunt. You have no better job to do." During the hearing, the authorities concerned questioned the petitioner's locus standi. They said that the petitioner had other legal remedies available. Upadhyay then pleaded for the liberty to withdraw the petition and seek alternative legal remedies. However, the High Court dismissed the petition. The petitioner had earlier also moved the Supreme Court in the same matter. The Supreme Court had dismissed his petition on August 7, 2025. Justice Verma had reached the Delhi High Court on March 14, 2025, to douse the fire at his official residence.
