Delhi High Court Grants Time to Kejriwal and Sisodia in Excise Policy Case

NEW DELHI: A legal battle is raging in the alleged excise policy case that has heated up Delhi politics. The Delhi high court on Thursday granted more time to former chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia to respond to a petition filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The bench of justice Swaran Kanta Sharma has now fixed the next hearing of the matter on April 2. What is the reason for છે.ED's displeasure? The entire controversy has been triggered by an order passed by the trial court on February 27, 2026. The trial court, while releasing some of the accused, had made some highly'adverse'remarks against the ED's investigation mechanism and arrests. The court also said that the investigating agencies should not enter the "electoral arena." The ED maintains that these comments are baseless and have been made without hearing the agency's side, which is a violation of the principles of natural justice.
