Former Aam Aadmi Party MLA Naresh Balyan has received a major setback from the Delhi High Court in the MCOCA case. The High Court has rejected his bail plea. The case is related to the organized criminal syndicate of alleged gangster Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu. Naresh Balyan was arrested in December 2024 and has been prosecuted under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA). The Crime Branch of the Delhi Police has filed a chargesheet against Balyan and several other accused alleging that they were part of an organized criminal syndicate run by Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu. According to investigating agencies, Kapil Sangwan is currently absconding and is suspected to be hiding in the UK. Non-bailable warrants have also been issued against him.
