Delhi Traffic Grinds to a Halt Due to CJP Protests

Central Delhi traffic was completely affected on Thursday due to the ongoing Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protests and security arrangements at Jantar Mantar. Thousands of commuters were stuck in jams for hours as police barricaded several major roads and closed 17 metro stations. People had to take longer routes to reach their destinations, increasing both travel time and expense. Long traffic queues were seen on many major roads in New Delhi throughout the day. Traffic movement was very slow around Vikas Marg, Parliament Street, Tolstoy Marg, Connaught Place Outer Circle, Patel Chowk, India Gate Circle, DDU Marg, Minto Road, and ITO Tunnel. Motorists faced long queues as a section of the road was barricaded near ITO Tunnel. Office-goers reported that they took twice as long as normal days. Noida Passenger House, Noida, said that it usually took more than an hour and a half to complete the journey to Delhi on Thursday.
