Nine out of the total 18 members of the standing committee of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi retired on Tuesday. As per the rules of the corporation, half of the total members are retired at the last meeting of the financial year of the standing committee. Under this administrative proceeding, a total of six members of the BJP and a total of three members of the Aam Aadmi Party retired. One member of the BJP and two members of the AAP retired from the House, while five members of the BJP and one member of the AAP retired from the standing committee of the wards of the zones. As of now, there are nine members in the standing committee. Now there are five members of the BJP and four members of the AAP out of the total nine members. There are two members of the BJP and one member of the AAP from the House, while there are three members of the BJP and three members of the AAP in the ward committee of the zones. Now, the election of the nine members who have retired will be held in the coming time. This election will be held after the completion of the mayoral election at the end of April. As per the rules of the corporation, every year a new mayor is elected under the election.
