Delimitation Bill Debate Intensifies as NDA Prepares to Reintroduce Changes

The political debate over the central government's proposed delimitation bill has once again intensified. Amid the fractured and changing political equations within the opposition parties in different states, there is a talk that the NDA is preparing to pass the delimitation bill by increasing its strength in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Meanwhile, a statement by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has intensified this debate. N. Chandrababu Naidu has indicated that the BJP government may reintroduce the delimitation bill in parliament with new changes. He also said that the new proposal will try to maintain a balance between the southern and northern states. In an interview to the Economic Times, Naidu said that the NDA government can bring the delimitation bill again in parliament along with the women's reservation law. According to him, the government's intention was clear from the beginning that the number of seats in all states should be increased to 50 percent. But some things were not clearly written in the draft of the bill, which the opposition made a big issue.
