Dhoraji's Phareni Road Residents Face Severe Drinking Water Crisis Amid Administrative Lapses

Drinking water problem has been plaguing the Phareni Road area of Dhoraji for the last seven years. Around 500 families living in Ward No. 4 of the area are facing severe water problems. It is alleged that despite a new pipeline being laid by the municipality at a cost of lakhs of rupees, water has not yet reached the last man due to administrative lapses. In the harsh summer when the temperature is sky high, this negligence of the system is proving fatal for the locals. The woes of the locals are not limited to the lack of water, but the water that is available through the old line is extremely dangerous. It is alleged that people are forced to drink contaminated water due to the mixing of sewage water in the drinking water line. This dirty water has caused skin diseases and water-borne diseases in the area. The women have alleged that the daughters have to walk 5 kilometers to fill water, due to which their education is also deteriorating. Despite repeated assurances by the authorities, the women's movement was disrupted.
