District Election: 140 Candidates File 158 Nominations Amid Precautions

A total of 158 nominations have been filed by 140 candidates in the district. This is because many candidates have filed in more than one set of nominations as a precaution. Some have filed in both party and independent categories to avoid cancellation of nominations due to any technical glitch. Now, the scrutiny of nominations will take place on February 4 and the withdrawal can be done by February 6.
