Kolkata: After the historic victory of the BJP in West Bengal, the Durga temple closed for years in Asansol has been opened permanently. The BJP took this decision after winning all the seats in Paschim Bardhaman. Krishnendu Mukherjee kept his election promise and took the initiative to open the temple throughout the year, which caused a wave of happiness among the local people. Krishnendu Mukherjee won 1 lakh 4 thousand 516 votes. He defeated the TMC's Moloy Ghatak in the election contest. This seat was won by the BJP for the first time. Kalyan Banerjee was elected as a TMC candidate from this seat in 2011. Earlier in 2001, the BJP has won 206 seats in the West Bengal Assembly elections. The Durga temple opened in Bastin Bazar, Asansol. The doors of the Durga temple of Sri-Sri Durgamata Charitable Trust, which were closed for years, were opened after the election results were announced.
