ED Conducts Raids on Multiple Premises Linked to Trinamool Congress MP Ahmed Hasan Nadimul Haque

Trouble seems to be mounting for Trinamool Congress Rajya Sabha member Ahmed Hasan Nadimul Haque. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is conducting simultaneous raids on Monday morning at around eight premises linked to the MP in Kolkata, Delhi and Ranchi. According to sources in the central probe agency, the entire operation is being carried out in connection with a case of financial irregularities and money laundering linked to a newspaper. Significantly, MP Nadimul Haque has been directly associated with a leading newspaper against which a complaint of large-scale financial fraud was filed last August. Early on Monday morning, ED teams raided the MP's residence and office in Kolkata's Park Circus area. Search operations are also underway at two other locations in the metropolis. Four premises related to the MP in the capital Delhi and a team of ED officials in Jharkhand's capital Ranchi are also scanning documents. However, no official statement has yet been issued by the Enforcement Directorate regarding this search operation and seizure.
