The death of an elderly man in Cooch Behar's Chakka area has created a furore. The deceased has been identified as Subhas Roy. Reportedly, his name and that of some of his family members were pending in the final voter list. Family sources said they expected his name to be included in the supplementary list. But the names were missing in the first and second lists. When the third supplementary list was published on Saturday, Subhas Babu and his family members'names did not appear in it. He allegedly suffered a mental breakdown. He suddenly fell ill late on Saturday night. Though the family rushed him to a hospital, doctors could not save him. Reportedly, he died of a heart attack. Local TMC candidate Parthapratim Roy rushed to the spot on Sunday morning. He alleged that the names of the deceased's two sons were missing from the list, which led to the tragedy. The BJP, on the other hand, claimed that it was a completely normal death and had nothing to do with the voter list.
