The Election Commission has removed the police station officers of Bhabanipur, the home district of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, and Nandigram, the home district of Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari. Soumitra Bose has been appointed as the new officer-in-charge of Bhabanipur police station. A total of 170 police station officers were transferred in the state police administration on Sunday, including important police stations like Bhabanipur in Kolkata, Nandigram in Purba Medinipur, and Sitalkuchi in Cooch Behar. 11 senior police officers were also removed on the same day.
