Election Commission Under Fire: Najeeb Jung Demands Reform Amid SIR Controversy

Former Lieutenant Governor of Delhi Najeeb Jung said on the SIR controversy that whatever the Election Commission is doing is wrong. He demanded that the three election commissioners should be removed and new commissioners should come. He also demanded to abolish the SIR and said that whatever elections have been held under it should be dissolved. On Monday (September 28), Najeeb Jung, Kapil Sibal, Yogendra Yadav and SY Quraishi talked about this issue. Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal said that the way the Election Commission cut people's votes is a criminal act according to us. There will be accountability. He said that the youth are protesting against it and the whole of India will protest against it. Former Chief Election Commissioner SY Quraishi said, "The press note that the Election Commission issued yesterday goes against them... Can there be two laws in India, one for you Form-6 and another for me?
