Election Commission's Form-6 Clarification Criticized by Congress MP Jairam Ramesh

Congress MP Jairam Ramesh has reacted to the clarification given by the Election Commission on Form-6 by posting on X. He has said that the recent clarification of the Election Commission on Form-6 is another game of words, which does not make anything clear. Every attempt to compensate for the loss shows how poorly the SIR process has been designed. The Congress leader further said that the declaration of Form-6 clearly asks if you are applying for enrolment for the first time. It can be considered as a first time applicant. This is another misleading word game. Its purpose is to cover up a flawed process and make a wrong declaration to the voters. Jairam Ramesh further said that after getting the voters to sign a wrong declaration, the ECI is now talking to them to avoid legal consequences. That too after the incident. This shows how poorly the SIR process has been designed. Apart from this, he said that the CEO of the Bombay High Court has also said that a letter from the ECI is not being used on this issue.
