Elections Disrupted by Protests in Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir

In Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), the impact of protests and boycotts was visible during the elections on Monday. Polling was held under strict surveillance in four assembly seats of Bagh and Haveli districts. Many polling stations remained silent throughout the day and not a single vote was cast. However, people voted in some VVIP polling stations. Clashes between political activists and demonstrations against the government were also seen during the polling. Polling was held in four assembly seats of Bagh and Haveli districts on Monday. These include Bagh-4 in Haveli district. The incumbent Prime Minister of PoK Mumtaz Faisal Rathore is contesting as a candidate of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) from this seat. Counting of votes was started in all the seats after the polling ended at 5.30 pm. Meanwhile, it was revealed that not a single vote was cast in many polling stations of Bagh-2 assembly seat throughout the day. According to ABP News, the results of many polling stations of Bagh-2 seat are exclusive. The number of votes cast at the polling station is not more than 114.
