Brussels, તા.30: The European Union (EU) is now taking a much tougher stance on illegal immigration. Similar to former US President Donald Trump's controversial deportation policies, Europe is now expanding its powers to track, raid, and return migrants. New policies coming into effect on 12 June will change Europe's border map. European countries are now building detention centres outside their own country, in'third countries ', to hold migrants who have not been granted asylum. Italy has taken the lead in this regard, opening two such centres in Albania. Countries such as Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands are also now in talks with Kenya and other African countries to send rejected migrants there. Major authority Georgia Mello's government has approved a new anti-immigration package. The international navy will now be able to intercept suspected illegal migrants, as well as foreign vessels, by the second week of July 2024.
