Explosion Rocks DMZ Between North and South Korea, Injuring Three Military Officers

The South Korean government said that this explosion happened during an unknown operation in the'Demilitarized Zone'( DMZ). This is a buffer zone on the border between the two countries, which is commonly called the DMZ. According to the ministry, the cause of the explosion could not be immediately known. Two of these officers were transported by helicopter and the third by helicopter. All three are being treated at a military hospital near Seoul. The South Korean Defense Ministry said that the explosion occurred when the army was conducting an operation inside the DMZ. It is not clear how the explosion was carried out. South Korean officials have not confirmed what caused the explosion.
