Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will on Wednesday address over 12,000 traders and MSMEs during the Byabasayi Sammelan at Netaji Indoor Stadium, ahead of the Bengal Business Conclave. The Sammelan is being organised by the Confederation of West Bengal Trade Association (CWBTA). The CWBTA is the apex body of over 100 trade associations. The Election Commission published the draft electoral rolls on Tuesday, following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise carried out in West Bengal. The hearings to rectify any discrepancies in the list will start on Wednesday. The Booth Level Officers will visit door-to-door to verify the information of the voters. If they can show one of the 11 documents, their names will be included in the final voter list, according to sources. New voters can also apply by filling out Form 6. A rally under the banner of the Bangla Bachao Jatra (Save Bengal March) programme will be held on Wednesday around 11 am. Private cab aggregators such as Ola, Uber and Cab Drivers’ Union (CITU) will take part in the rally. CITU secretary Sohag Khan will lead the rally. The rally will start from Chinar Park (under Baguiati Police Station) and proceed to the Jyoti Basu Research Center (under Eco Park Police Station). At least 120 people are expected to take part in the rally.
