Factionalism Plagues Congress Ahead of Rajkot Municipal Corporation Elections

Rajkot, Dec 6: Municipal corporation elections are a few days away. Congress and factionalism seem to be synonymous with each other as elections are held and infighting rarely erupts. This time there has been a dispute in Ward No. 15. Praveen Sorani, husband of former opposition leader Bhanuben Sorani, and Vashram Sagathia are at loggerheads over tickets. This has aggravated the party's problems. Congress has not announced a candidate for Ward No. 15 out of the 40 candidates announced by Congress. A few days ago, Praveen Sorani expressed his displeasure over the city Congress office and made allegations against the city Congress president. After which factionalism in Congress came out in the open. A group including city president Rajdeepsinh Jadeja demanded disciplinary action against Praveen Sorani while another group protested against Praveen Sorani's statement on the office matter.
