Farooq Abdullah Disappointed with INDIA Alliance Over Lack of Support for Jammu and Kashmir Statehood

National Conference president Farooq Abdullah has expressed deep disappointment with the INDIA alliance, and particularly the Congress, for not getting the "overwhelming support that was expected" for the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. Farooq Abdullah said of the opposition alliance, INDIA, his party remains a committed member of the alliance, but it has not performed as expected. He also cited the lack of a strong and cohesive strategy on issues related to Jammu and Kashmir as the main reason for the discord in the alliance.
