In Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, torrential rains over the past week have caused severe flooding in the Bandia river. Due to this flood, a large part of the Kothi-Koraner bridge in South Gadchiroli fell and was washed away. Notably, this bridge was inaugurated only three years ago by the then Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister of the district Devendra Fadnavis. The collapse of the bridge in the first major flood has caused a stir in political and administrative circles. Due to this incident, the traffic between Gadchiroli and Chhattisgarh has come to a complete standstill. A tender of ₹4 crore was issued in 2019 for the construction of this bridge and contractor Mithilesh Mishra was assigned this work. Later due to the increase in the length of the bridge, its construction was completed during 2022-2023. On 15 August 2023, in the hands of the then Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister of the district Devendra Fadnavis and in the presence of the then Minister of Food and Drug Administration Dharmrao Baba Atram, the inauguration of this bridge was done in the form of a'Babaveer Bridge Revolution '.
