In Gandhinagar, Gandhinagar district, the District Election Commission has been alerted to conduct the voting process for the general elections to 3 local self-government bodies. After reviewing the security, 11 out of a total of 892 polling stations in the rural areas of all four taluks of the district have been declared sensitive. While 4 out of 10 polling stations in the Kalol municipal area have been equipped with surveillance systems. The administration and the police department are in action mode in connection with the general and by-election elections to the local self-governments to be held on Sunday, April 6. In order to conduct the election process in a peaceful and transparent manner, the system has organized a two-tier security system including security of sensitive polling stations and helpline for citizens. After reviewing the security, 11 out of a total of 89 polling stations have been declared sensitive. About 23.5 percent of the stations will be manned by additional police personnel and home guards. In addition to this, 4 out of 10 polling stations of the Kalola municipality will be monitored.
