Gen Z Voters Set to Shake Up Indian Politics in 2027 Assembly Elections

In the last few years in India, the way Gen Z has raised its voice from the streets to social media has given sleepless nights to political parties. In 2027, assembly elections are to be held in seven states: Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Goa and Manipur. In these seven states, the number of young voters of Gen Z i.e. 18 to 29 years of age is so high that they can change the direction of the election results single-handedly. The real test of political parties in the election will be to understand the power of GenZ and change their strategies. Political experts often said about Gen Z that this generation either does not vote in the elections or is not very serious. But the kind of youth movements that the country has seen since 2019, they have changed this thinking. From the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) to the participation of youth in the farmers'movement shocked.
