Government and Opposition Reach Agreement on Anti-Paper Leak Bill

The deadlock between the government and the opposition on the anti-paper leak bill has finally ended. The bill will be discussed in the Lok Sabha tomorrow. Earlier, Speaker Om Birla had appealed to the parties and the opposition to reach a consensus on this bill and try to resolve the impasse. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla's initiative and continuous dialogue in the house yielded positive results. Now on Tuesday, the discussion on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Improper Means) Bill, 2026 will be held in the parliament. All the major political parties have agreed to start discussion on this important bill. During the proceedings of the house, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla had urged all the parties that this subject is related to the transparency of the country's crores of students, youth and competitive examinations. Therefore, it is appropriate to have a comprehensive and meaningful discussion on this bill. After this positive initiative of the speaker, the floor leaders of various political parties were discussed in the Lok Sabha. As a result, both the ruling and opposition parties agreed to have a detailed discussion on this bill on Tuesday.
