The fourth round of talks between the government and students is set to begin today amid the 24-day-long student agitation over alleged irregularities in the JPSC-JSSC recruitment exams. A 10-member delegation of students has reached the state guest house for talks. Eyes are now set on whether the long-standing impasse will be broken today or the agitation will intensify. The students have already made it clear that they are ready for talks but are not ready to budge from their key demands. At the same time, the government is also trying to find a solution to the students'demands through continuous talks. Three rounds of talks have already been held between the students and the government. However, several key demands such as investigation into alleged irregularities in the exams, cancellation of exams and reforms in the recruitment process have not been agreed upon so far. The fourth round of talks is taking place at a time when the agitating students have expressed hope to get the government clear on their demands by August 18.
