Government Employees' Organizations Seek Double Salary in 7 Years Under Eighth Pay Commission

If you are a central government employee or have a government job in your family, then this news is for you. Under the Eighth Pay Commission, the employees'organizations have put forward such demands to the government, which if implemented, can double the gross salary of the employees in just 7 years. However, these are only proposals and estimates. The final decision is yet to be taken by the Eighth Pay Commission and the central government. In fact, the central employees'organizations say that the current 3 percent annual increment (Central Government Employees Salary Demand) is not enough to increase the basic salary of the employees. Therefore, the Eighth Pay Commission has demanded an annual increment from 5 to 7 percent, merger of Dearness Allowance (DA) into the basic pay at the fixed level and a big increase in all the allowances. According to them, currently under the Seventh Pay Commission, the employees get a 3 percent annual increment. The basic salary of a Level-1 employee is about Rs 18,000 in 10 years. Apart from HRA and DA, there is no answer.
