SURAT: As Gujarat marches towards sustainable development under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel, the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference at Surat has come up with a'Sustainability Hill'showcasing the synergy of environment conservation and textile industry at an exhibition till May. To promote eco-friendly approaches in the textile and energy sector, Textile and Apparel Development Association (TAADA) has created this special installation. The entire journey of'Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Fabric and Fabric to Fashion and Fashion to Foreign'has been showcased with sustainability parameters. Visitors can learn about the entire fibre-to-textile chain and gain a deeper understanding of the global contribution of Surat's textile industry. Not only cotton, but also bamboo, hemp, flax, cotton flax, banana, Himalayan grass, among other materials can be made from this eco-friendly fibre.
