Extensions Follow Whatsapp Channels Himachal Pradesh High Court said that no nomination can be rejected on the basis of caste certificate being old. Irrespective of the date of issue of certificate, the person will belong to the same category. Being old will not change the status of the petitioner. The court of Justice Jyotsna Rewal Dua held the ground of rejection of nomination by the Returning Officer to be wholly unreasonable. The court set aside the order and asked the Returning Officer to decide again on the nomination of the petitioner in accordance with law. If the nomination is accepted, then the election symbol should be allotted to the candidate. The court clarified that the election schedule of the Panchayati Raj institutions notified by the State Election Commission on 29 April 2026 should not be affected in any way.
