ICC Withdraws Hosting Rights of Women's Champions Trophy 2027 from Sri Lanka

The first edition of the Women's Champions Trophy will be played next year, early 2027. There has been a major controversy over the hosting of the tournament before. In fact, the Champions Trophy was earlier to be played in Sri Lanka, but now the International Cricket Council (ICC) has taken away the hosting from Sri Lanka. Lanka will no longer be able to host the Champions Trophy. No information has been revealed about where the first edition of the Champions Trophy will be played. However, it has now been confirmed that the Women's Champions Trophy 2027 will not be played in Sri Lanka. Not all matters have been resolved between the ICC and the Sri Lankan government, due to which the hosting has been taken away from Sri Lanka. There have been reports of political interference in Sri Lankan cricket for a long time. The ICC asks for this matter to be rectified but so far these matters have not been resolved. Every cricket board has been able to act independently without political or government interference, but Sri Lanka has been able to take away the hosting of the Champions Trophy due to the Transformation Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket.
