Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has received a donation of ₹150 crore from its alumnus Anant Yardi. This contribution from Anant Yardi, Founder and Chairman of Yardi Systems, will accelerate AI research at the institute. A major portion of this amount will be donated to Yardi School of Artificial Intelligence, IIT Delhi, which was established in 2020. The centre promotes education and research in the areas of AI, Machine Learning, and Data Science. A significant portion of the donation will be used to augment the institute's resources and expansion programme. It will develop new academic buildings and residential facilities. Anant Yardi said that IIT Delhi has given them a strong academic base. IIT Delhi Director Rangan Banerjee called it a historic initiative that will strengthen AI research capabilities and advertise.
