Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasised on three'Mutuals'of trust with Chinese President Xi Jinping. These three are'Mutual'- mutual respect, mutual sensitivity and mutual interest. Further, India has said that differences between the two countries should not turn into disputes. This meeting between PM Modi and President Jinping took place under the banner of BRICS Delhi 2026. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping of China held a 50-minute bilateral meeting. This was the first bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Xi Jinping after the Galwan clash. This meeting of the two leaders took place at a time when India-China relations are showing signs of gradual improvement. In the meeting, both leaders stressed on taking the bilateral relationship forward from a strategic and long-term perspective. Both leaders welcomed the steady progress made in India-China relations since their last meeting in Tianjin in August 2025. They reiterated that the two countries should look at their relations from a long-term and strategic perspective.
