A diplomatic row has erupted again between India and Bangladesh. The Bangladesh government has lodged a strong protest over the treatment of a senior advisor to Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Delhi airport. India's Deputy High Commissioner in Dhaka Pavan Badhe was summoned by the Bangladeshi foreign ministry late on Monday night and formally lodged his protest. Bangladesh's Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman described the incident as "unwanted and unfortunate." According to officials, Zahid ur Rahman, a strategy advisor to the Bangladesh government, had come to New Delhi to attend a conference. As soon as he arrived at the Delhi airport, Indian officials stopped him there. Zahid ur Rahman was stopped at the airport and questioned for several hours. He was only allowed to leave the airport after a lengthy interrogation. However, there has been no official statement or response from the Indian foreign ministry on the incident so far.
